Film Review - Jackass 3D

Jackass 3D

if you have any intention of going to see this movie, then you already know what to expect. The only difference from the others - it's in 3D and their all alot older. If you want to see a bunch of middle aged men acting like kids then this is the movie for you. I am amazed that no one has been killed yet, whilst making the movies or even the TV series. Having said all of that I laughed all the way through. So much so my cheeks hurt by the end. Go and watch if you want a laugh.

Film Review - Red

Red

I'm a lover of Bruce Willis, not to the extent that he is my guilty pleasure or anything like that. I juat love the characters that he has played. I admire him. and I think I have loved every single move that he has been in. Jon Malkovich was absolutely fabulous in this movie. I think he may have actually made the movie what it was. he's pretty funny, and before this, I had never really paid any attention to his career. I think next Sunday I may rent all of his movies and have a Jon Malkovich marathon.

Film Review - The Social Network

The Social Network

I went to this movie, purely to watch good old JT do his thang'
The movie itself was a good watch, just like, I expect the book it was based on was a good read. In a world where everyone (almost) wants to be a millionaire, it was bound to grab the audiences attention. Just like we all go out and read biographies on people like Simon Cowell or the Virgin guy - the name is just not in my head right now. This movie would have captured the entrepreneur within us all. So the point of the story - to get rich quick, break up with your other half, being a computer geek is an added bonus. Get a great idea whilst drunk, stab your best friend in the back and then at the end of it all realise you have no one and start contemplating whether or not it was actually worth it at all.

Film Review - Saw 3D

Saw 3D

I'm an absolute lover of horror movies, but alas they just don't make them like they used to. Their not soooooo much scary as they are incredibly gross, which is just what the Saw franchise is all about. The gross factor. It used to take alot to gross me out, until I went to see Saw 4. Their I was eating my popcorn when the movie began, I think I nearly threw up! Anyways Saw 3D was exactly what I expected, with a few unexpected but not completely, surprise, twists. The gore factor was not amis, with an opening of, well saw type things and a love triangle that went seriously askew.
My biggest and worst fear, is my teeth falling (being pulled) out. It makes me want to be sick, just thinking about it. Add the noise that it makes when a tooth is ripped out and i'm jut a gonner. I literally could not look at the screen as this happened. My fingers were even in my ears.
Great movie for halloween, shame it took me so long to write the review.

Defo go and see it, i went on halloween so it was a wee bit festive, if you can call halloween.

Film Review - Vampires Suck

Vampires Suck

This movie, gives you exactly what you would expect from a spoof film - cheap laughs and random scenes. Although I found myself laughing pretty much all the way through the movie, I had to wonder is this because I am a complete Twilight geek? Were the producers/ writers of the movie infact trying to ride the vampire wave and attract all the angsty teenagers that will buy anything that revolves around the Bella/ Edward saga? Or were they not? I guess that's not important.
Although I am sure everyone in the world has now heard about Vampires taking over the world etc, would you have understood this, had you been well lets just say a man? who hasn't been taken in by Edwards sparkly vapiric looks?
And with the risk of being hated by all the girls under the age of 16, I think Matt Lanter, who plays Edward Sullen (see how they have changed the name there? LOL) could have been a better Edward. Sorry girls, just an opinion.
I am sure that the Twilight saga would have been a bit different though as the chemistry between Robert and Kristen would be pretty hard to beat.
I also think Chris Riggi who played Jacob White would have also been a great Jacob. Yikes I did it again. Sorry team Jacob.

Go see xxxxxxx

DVD Review - Pretty Little Devils

Pretty Little Devils

There is not a whole lot to say about this movie except, do not go and watch it. Seriously do not waste your life on this totally awful script, bad acting and shamelessly awful use of the F word.
The plot could have potential - up there with the likes of Sorority Row - so not that great, but at least the possibility to watch something worthy of even writing about. The way the characters were portrayed, did not convey to the intended audience and I suspect the reason the movie was 18 rated was solely on the use of the word C U Next Tuesday!
No more about this movie, except to all those writers hoping that one day your scripts will get commissioned, there's hope!

Film Review - Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps

I heard some pretty bad reviews about this movie, so I was a bit worried about wasting 2 hours of my life, being bored to tears. So I am happy to announce that this movie was well worth the watch.
I have to admit that I have never seen Wall Street, so I went in with a fresh pair of eyes, with none of the usual skeptisim that is involved with a sequel.

The movie worked at a steady pace, when building the plot. I enjoyed the whole 'story' and the romance, of course Michael Douglas was amazing and Shia LeBouf did a really good job

I now want to learn all about the stock market and have some books on order from Amazon. For some reason I just can't get my head around shares and stocks and how you can sell them. Also how the worlds economy can be based around when someone can be destroyed by a simple rumour. I guess I better get reading. Ha HA

Film Review - Buried

Buried

I didn't need any persuading whatsoever to go and see this movie - all I heard was Ryan Reynolds! SOLD.
Even asking for a ticket for the movie - I forgot the name - all I said was '2 for Ryan Reynolds pls!' Good thing the girl knew what I was talking about.
Initial thought whilst watching Buried? 'This is exactly what should happen to this movie! It should be buried.' However I refuse to walk out on a movie, however bad it may seem. There is nothing worse than not knowing the ending. So I persevered. The 2nd half was slightly more gripping. I was really routing for this guy to get out. The more you watched him, the more you felt for him. I then started to think 'Wow this guy has some severe bad luck going right now.' I had to keep reminding myself, that this was infact just a movie. Ryan Reynolds definitely captivated the audience with little more than a torch a mobile and a lighter.
Would I see it again? No - It is most definitely a one time watch movie.
I'm waaaaay to angry at the ending!

DVD Review - The Back up Plan

The Back up Plan

So another movie featuring JLo, another Romcom and another cinema flop!

That said, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I book mark JLo up there with Jennifer Anniston and Drew Barrymore -  good for a laugh and a whimsical love story. Not Oscar worthy movies, but fully entertaining. Most definitely ones to watch with your girlfriends on a Friday night with a take away. Leave the BF at home, unless he has a crush on any of the above.

Although following the Romcom strategies, fall in love at the wrong time, try to make the relationship work, struggle then comes the obligatory break up and of course the make up. It still had me guessing. (That's not hard - remember the 6th sense? I had no idea what was going on until the end credits!)

JLo plays a strong  single lady who doesn't need a man in her life. It hasn't happened yet, she hasn't met the one, so she assumes it won't. Next step - artificial insemination - OBVIOUSLY!
Then add the misfortune of meeting the one just a mere 5 minutes after insemination and hey presto to you have the movie.
Worth the watch if your a JLo fan. Giving birth  scene was the funniest part of the movie - be warned it may put you off having babies.

Film Review - The Town

The Town

It's not often that a film has me sitting on the edge of my seat, squealing like a little girl and routing for the bad guy. This is exactly what 'The Town' managed to do.

The film starts, with the opening credits stating that the film is set in Charlestown, an area of Boston that has spawned more bank robbers than any other part of the US.
Clue to what the movie will be about? Bank Robbery.
So sets the story about bank robbing as a family business, passed down from father to son, with no way out. Of course there would also be the forbidden love story - Que Ben Affleck - the obligatory fall out and the random make up story.
This film is well worth the watch, the show down is fantastic! If not a little bit funny.
Ben Affleck, did a great job with this movie, the screen play!
Glad he's back on the big screen!

Coming to a cinema near you, very very soon!

Hey Guys
So this lil bloggy has been sitting here unused for a while now. The need to start a movie blog became to hard to resist. I am a bit of a geek and an eager cinema goer.

I will make it my mission to infact update this with movie reviews and a bit of movie banter.

What makes this different from any other movie blog or website? Nothing! I talk rubbish and have a tendency to ramble about things off topic. This can be blamed on diet coke. I feel that all the E numbers I consume may just be affecting my brain.

Anyways loads coming out at the cinema soon, so if you want to, keep checking back, you may just be surprised or maybe not.

Ciao
